The present study aims to evaluate the performance of evaporation-assisted humidification–dehumidification (E-HDH) desalination, specifically direct evaporative (DE-HDH), indirect (IE-HDH), and Maisotsenko (ME-HDH) systems. To achieve this, a thermodynamic modeling approach is utilized, which incorporates wet bulb effectiveness method, psychrometric relationships humid air, equations that govern heat mass balance. key indicators studied E-HDH desalination systems are estimated concerning operating parameters. results show ME-HDH system capable producing comparatively higher water production rate (WPR) ranging between 0.01 7.92 g/s as compared DE-HDH IE-HDH sensible cooling flux was observed be high at dry-bulb temperature (Tdb) 50 °C relative humidity (RH) < 0.2, having value 5.26 kW for system, followed by (3.23 kW) (3.11 due relatively flow rates. latent in case system.
